Christmas 2013

An overcast and windy day, but that didn't stop over 80 club members packing into the Ross Town Hall for our annual Christmas party. As usual there was heaps of food, and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Woolmers 2013

A great day at the annual 'Festival of Roses' at Woolmers estate, near Longford. A good turnout of cars and perfect weather made for a most enjoyable and relaxing day out.

Symmons Plains 2013

A motorkhana event at Symmons Plains attracted a good attendance, and members were able to 'let their hair down' and have some fun. The JCCT was in full competition mode with the boys pushing their wheels and skills to the limit all in the name of glory. Martin Wilson was crowned outright winner in the beautiful E Type Roadster. Well done to all who came along and enjoyed the day!

Rhodos 2013

A good turnout of cars visited the Rhododendron gardens at Lalla. Previously the Walker Rhododendron Reserve, this boasts possibly the finest display of Rhodos in Australia. A perfect, sunny day, very welcome after the recent poor weather!

"Take Your Tops Off"

Several members of the JCCT were among the 60 'topless' vehicles at Hobart's Parliament Lawns as part of the "Tops Off For Breast Cancer" event organised by Shannons. A large crowd of onlookers were encouraged to buy a pink ribbon to place in front of the car they most desired. Cars included an XJS Cabriolet, three XJS convertibles, an XK140 Roadster and an XKR convertible.

40th Anniversary

The club's 40th anniversary dinner was held at Frogmore Creek Winery, near Cambridge. A great night, with almost 100 guests.

A wonderful afternoon touring the historic stables and house at 'Shene', just north of Pontville. We had 17 people in 9 cars and everyone had a great time. Definitely a place to revisit in the coming years as Anne and David work to further restore the site's buildings.

Lost Farm

After a quick morning tea at the 'Lilydale Larder', it was off to the Lost Farm Golf Course near Barnbougle for a relaxed lunch. Great meals, with a view to die for! Some members later went on to Barnbougle Golf Course for a post-lunch coffee.

Maria Island

A small band of just six people took a day trip to Maria Island recently, with Dale and Gail, Des and Jenni, and Barry and Athalie braving a chilly day. They walked around the island, seeing Darlington, the Painted Cliffs, and plenty of convict ruins. Of course, there was plenty of the local wildlife around as well. Bruny Island is a beautiful place, try to get there yourself sometime.

Spreyton Cider

A relaxing country run, going via the Blueberry Barn Cafe at Frankford for a quick morning tea, then on to Spreyton for a cider tasting and lunch at Spreyton Cider. A cool and sometimes windy day, but we managed to escape most of the rain.

Midwinter Christmas 2013

The Northern Midwinter Christmas function for 2013 was held at Launceston\'s Abel Tasman motel. The venue was great, the staff really looked after us with table decorations, great food and great service. As well, there was the traditional \'Piping of the Pudding\' by piper Rod, and of course some after-dinner fudge!

A run to the delightful Marakoopa Cafe, via Deloraine and Chudleigh. A great relaxing day, although the threat of afternoon storms sent the open-top cars home early.

Workshop Tour

A tour of Dean Causley\'s restoration workshop, followed by a relaxing lunch at Koukla\'s cafe at Gravelly Beach.
