 – Stage two (16 – 20 April) is based in Strahan, on the wild West Coast.

Hobart, Tasmania

Thursday 11th AprilPre-Rally Early arrivals are encouraged at Wrest Point, allowing you to relax after your travels to get here.  Please note that Wrest Point have arranged secure under-cover parking for the Rally cars attending.

Friday 12th April – Registration will take place at the Wrest Point complex in the Boardwalk Gallery, with rally packs and ordered regalia available for collection.  Bookings will close on 29 February 2024.

A welcome BBQ will be held in the evening in the Boardwalk Gallery, directly overlooking the Derwent River.

Saturday 13th April – The Jaguar display will be held in the delightful surrounds of the Parliament Lawns, in the Hobart CBD.  From here you will have a large range of options to explore whilst your car is being displayed. The iconic Salamanca Market is immediately adjacent to the display, and is a great place to find an exotic snack, some uniquely Tasmanian memorabilia, or just browse.  Just across the road at the waterfront, you can find a variety of short and day tours to take you away on an adventure,  Details of suggested activities and dining options will be included in your rally pack.

In the evening, we invite you to dress up and attend our themed ‘1970’s’ gala dinner, in Wrest Point’s Tasman Room.

Sunday 14th April – The historic Baskerville racing circuit will host our Sporting Day event, and is a short drive from Hobart.  A light lunch is included in the price of $170 per car, and entries are limited to 20 cars.  Details for this event will be sent to interested parties before the event.  A copy of the Supplementary Regulations that will apply to this event can be found here.    We regret that safety and methodology rules regarding rescuing a driver from a damaged car, mean that Electric and Hybrid vehicles will not be allowed to compete at Baskerville.   For any queries about the Sporting Day event, please contact our Sporting Director Chris Edwards on  0427 731 533.

For those who would prefer a slower pace, we offer a Port Arthur Historic Site guided tour, which includes a short harbour cruise around the Isle of the Dead.  A light morning tea is available at your own cost.

Sunday evening has been left free for you to make your own arrangements; avail yourselves of the myriad of great venues in the Hobart area, or perhaps have a flutter or two in the Casino!

Monday 15th April – Today sees a scenic cruise to the amazing Bruny Island, and includes the incredible coastal towers and cliffs of the south east coast.  A meal is available, which must be pre-booked, at your own cost; details will be sent to attendees before the event.  A second vessel has been secured to meet the high early demand for this event, numbers are now limited to 86, but subject to the second vessel being filled.

Monday evening will see the traditional Presentation Dinner, in the Wrest Point Derwent Room.

Strahan, Tasmania

Tuesday 16th April – We now commence stage two of the Rally, and make our way westward towards Strahan.  This is a substantial drive, so please ensure your car is fueled and ready before you set out.  There are many interesting places to divert you along the way, so we have set no particular agenda for your drive.  However, we strongly recommend you check out the Wilderness Wall.

After you have checked into your accommodation in Strahan, you can relax, before enjoying a Seafood Buffet in the Strahan Village complex.

Wednesday 17th April – Time to slow right down, and get your wilderness on!  We take a full-day Gordon River Cruise, which takes us across the vast Macquarie Harbour, and up along the wild Gordon River.  A buffet lunch is provided on board.  Numbers for this event are limited, so please book early.

Wednesday evening is free for you to relax and explore.

Thursday 18th April – Time for more wilderness, with another half-day trip on the famous Wilderness Railway.  This takes us right through some of the densest rainforest in the world.   Coffee and a light snack is available at your own cost, at the Lower Landing terminus.

Thursday evening is again free for you to explore, but you may care to attend the long-running live show in Strahan, ‘The Ship that Never Was’.

Friday 19th April – A free day is provided, for you to explore at will.  Drive out to the amazing Hells Gates, at the extremely narrow entrance to Macquarie Harbour, the site of many shipwrecks in the early settlement days of Tasmania, and (weather permitting) wander along the vast expanse of Ocean Beach.  Many more suggestions for things to visit will be provided in your Rally kits.

Friday evening will see our Farewell Seafood Buffet event, where you can relax and reminisce about your Rally experiences,

Saturday 20th April – We depart Strahan, and say farewell for another year.  You can make your way back towards home, or set out on your own touring adventure.

Please come and have a great time with us in Tasmania.
