What started off as looking like a real drizzly wet day, turned out to be yet another beautiful winter day as we all congregated in Hunter Street at 10.30 am.
Only 5 Jaguars and of course their proud owners were there, along with Ron and Chris Leach in their Nissan 4WD 'Back-up' vehicle.
Heading off through Constitutional Docks, we were led by Andrew and Marilyn Irving's Dove Grey Mk V, followed closely by Tony Prins E-Type, Diane and Brian Spencer's (beautiful) XJS and the XJ6 Jaguars of Cleve Allen and Jill Hobbs and Roy Goldfinch and Guest.
We created much head turning and attention despite the lack of real numbers in the convoy. Never the less, we had a very leisurely and relaxed drive though to Kettering and the Oyster Cove Inn. What a delightful setting this is, with several lounge rooms, all with blazing open fires burning furiously and warming us
through.
We enjoyed this relaxed atmosphere over a
drink or two to whet the appetite before our lunch, which was
enjoyed by all with excellent conversation
over the next couple of hours.
It is quite possible we would have stayed there a bit longer, but a restaurant guest with a screaming 'rug rat' kind of did it for us, and so the decision was made to wander off and make our respective way home again. Probably fortuitous we did go then as it happened, as within another few hours, the clouds re-appeared and down came the rain again, but by then we would have all been home with the cars safely locked up out of the wet weather.
A great day once again and enjoyed by all who attended - lets do that again...
