Past Events in the JCCT

Annual Car Expo at the National Automobile Museum
27 August, 2011

They say a red sky in the morning is a Shepherd's warning, never the less; no shepherd was going to rain on George's parade. This was our Mk 2's first outing in the club as a respectable registered and road worthy car. No more sneaking around the back streets on a trade plate going for a "test drive."

On arrival to the museum car park we were directed to the JCCT's allocated spot opposite the entrance. David Rush was there on his Pat Malone but it didn't take long for the cats to arrive, forming an impressive line for the punters to admire and photograph.

The FPV Car Club had a nice display for us Ford lovers to appreciate and many a fine Rolls Royce were in attendance, including JCCT member Dick Holtsbaum's. Food and coffee vendors were doing a roaring trade and free admission to the newly renovated museum was appreciated when the heaven's opened and gave all the cars a wash they really didn't need. The Nation's Riley featured in the main display and we spied a nice maroon S Type and a Mk5.

Here's a list of who we saw/caught up with. Apologies' in advance if I have missed anyone:
 - Jim Dickenson - XJS coupe
 - Andrew and yours truly - MK2 2.4
 - David Rush - XJ8
 - Leon and Heather Ranson - XJ Series 2
 - John Wilson - Daimler 250
 - Roger Ryan - XJ Series 3
 - Allister Shoobridge, Faye, Cleve and Jill - Daimler X300
 - Rod and Barb Swan - XJ40
 - Dick Holtsbaum - Rolls Royce
 - Mark Johnston - S Type (new model)
 - Brian Mathews - S Type (new model)
 - Mark Wheatley, Tony Sadleir, Bob and Marg Graham.

It was a great opportunity to view some excellent cars from other clubs and as always nice to catch up with our fellow members.
