2010 AGM - Oatlands
Sunday 12th September
Our AGM is over for another year with all the presentations and committee nominations done and dusted. Firstly of course, we must thank that wonderful group of locals, led by Shirley Robson, and go under the name of "Oatlands Multi-Purpose Health Centre Auxiliary" Once again they provided us with a sumptuous morning tea of sandwiches and cakes, tea and coffee. This was more like a luncheon than a morning tea though, and after the meeting was closed, we were then treated to (once again) a fabulous hot lunch and dessert. The Committee and members of the JCCT wish to thank this group of wonderful people for their efforts for the day, and no doubt will see you next year when we do it all again.

This year the AGM was moved to the Oatlands Football Oval due to a double booking at the Community Hall. The Football Oval was a far superior site for our AGM with off-street grassed parking for our cars, hence it was decided on the day that this is where future AGM's will be held. Although next year we will have both open fire lit and the partitions between the 2 rooms opened up to allow more space. Unfortunately this year, only 1 fire was lit, and the rear room was 'absolutely freezing'. So, with the morning tea consumed and the catching up with other members and lots of chatter, the meeting started virtually on time, and proceeded relatively quickly and smoothly. All relevant trophies and presentations were done, photos taken, committee nominated and general business conducted, the meeting finished on time.

With regards to Barry Jacobs' 20 year membership badge; he was eligible for this in 2006, however, at the time, he was somehow overlooked by the Committee of the day. Barry never mentioned it at the time, unfortunately, but thankfully this oversight was recently picked up by Lorraine Elder (our departing Membership Officer), and is now rectified. So, therefore our sincerest apologies Barry for this oversight, and we appreciate the longevity of your membership, as 20 years is quite a milestone.

Also, in line with the clubs constitution, where it states that we should have at least 3 committee members in the North. This has also been rectified with the appointment of Geoff Henry to assist the Northern Chairman. This now gives us a Northern Chairman, NC Assistant and a Web Master.

Regalia Officer Marilyn Irving did a roaring trade on the day, so if you missed catching up with her at the AGM, take a look at what's on offer on the club web site. (Items can be ordered off the web site which includes direct credit banking details) This web site Regalia page will be revised in the next few months, and an updated 'CAT-a-logue' will be in your mailbox very soon, watch out for it. Another minor change that came about through the AGM, is the position of North West Librarian (created at the AGM in 2009) has been scrapped through lack of use, and all books from there are now back with the Northern Librarian.

We had a person from the South come along to the AGM and joined our club on the day, so we must welcome Norman Bickley from Taroona, Hobart into the fray. Norman also purchased some regalia items, (he must be keen) so good to have you aboard Norman, welcome.

With everything taken care of, it just left time for lots more chatter, strolling through the car park and inspecting vehicles, more chatter, then bid our farewells once again and head for our respective homes.

So, until next year when we do it all again - have a great year.
